This session seeks to challenge our understanding of what poverty is. This session will feature interviews taken with members of civil society, public service and locals in Northern Ghana. Interviews were conducted by Stacey Gomez, a recent returned volunteer with Engineers Without Borders, on a quest to understand what poverty means to those experiencing it first-hand, recognizing the limitations of our Western lens. Is the World Bank standard for poverty obsolete? What does poverty look like? These are some of the questions that we will seek to tackle.
